Inside Raven, Women in STEM

Advancing Agriculture Automation

Read how Project Manager Sienna Mayer helped with the launch of Raven Cart Automation™ at Farm Progress Show 2023.

Project Manager Sienna Mayer has worked at Raven for just over a year. A member of Raven’s Product Development team, Sienna is currently the project manager for our harvest autonomy program, with an emphasis on Raven Cart Automation™, which launched at Farm Progress Show in August.

As a Project Manager, Sienna helps facilitate and lead the overall project team, ensuring the necessary functional areas are moving forward and the project is hitting its milestones. In this role, Sienna works between the various groups to ensure that all team members are aligned on project goals and working together as one team to drive results.

Sienna said an interesting aspect of her role is that she doesn’t have any direct reports, but works across a variety of teams, which means it’s important for her to focus on building relationships and using influence to help the team make decisions.

From the first day Sienna joined the team, she quickly took on the Raven Cart Automation project with a positive attitude. She has a great technical skillset, jumps in where needed to ensure work gets done, and gets along well with her team members and colleagues.

— Keri Sees, Project Management Lead

Since starting at Raven, Sienna has grown in her role as she learned more about agriculture and the impact of the work that we do. For her, it’s been fulfilling to hear her family’s responses to her work, because many of her family members work in agriculture and have been excited to see her taking on a role in the ag industry.

Sienna has been developing continuously since joining the Raven team in 2022. She has been furthering her personal and professional growth through leadership and learning events, and she was selected for the South Dakota Agricultural and Rural Leadership Program, which teaches participants about the ag industry in South Dakota.

Sienna said she’s experienced a lot of growth while managing the Raven Cart Automation project, which is the first project that she has led from start to finish.

Managing this project has been an amazing learning experience. Interacting with customers and hearing how the product has impacted them is my favorite part of the job. It is rewarding to know I played a role in this solution, and it was exciting to see so many people experiencing Raven Cart Automation at the launch.

— Sienna Mayer, Project Manager

Sienna traveled to Farm Progress Show with some of her team members to attend the Raven Cart Automation launch in person, and she said it was exciting to see customers lining up for a ride and drive. She enjoyed talking with customers not only about this autonomy advancement, but our plans for autonomous solutions.

Outside of her Project Manager role, Sienna has been leading Raven’s Sustainability Committee. In the last few months, she has grown the committee and led various efforts to encourage sustainable practices at our facilities. The committee has been working on improving recycling efforts and they have hosted river cleanup events to remove litter from the Big Sioux River.

Sienna said one of the things that she is most excited about is Raven’s potential to advance sustainable efforts in agriculture.

My vision for Raven is to see us advance farming through technology and sustainable innovation. Our work could help create innovative, sustainable agricultural solutions that will help farmers feed the world while being stewards of the land.

— Sienna Mayer, Project Manager

Sienna’s commitment to growth has resulted in customer-centric solutions, consistent sustainability efforts, and connectedness across teams. Her efforts will ensure we all continue to grow together.
