Helping Farmers in Australia Be the Best

Read how Customer Support Specialist II Keera Smedley is helping farmers serve the world.

Customer Support Specialist II Keera Smedley is a problem solver with a commitment to helping farmers serve the world. A member of our Australia team, Keera helps manage operations and find solutions to farmers’ challenges.

Keera has been on the Raven team since 2016, when she worked on our manufacturing operations team in Sioux Falls, SD. As she advanced in her career, Keera moved into a Technical Service role. Eventually, she chose to move home to Australia in early 2020. Once there, she planted roots and began a new role as a Customer Support Specialist.

Keera was the second team member to join our Australia team, reporting to Sales Manager Matt Daniels.

Matt said that from the beginning, Keera was an asset to the team for many reasons, including her knowledge of Australia. Keera’s insights into her home country made it easier for her to reach out to connections and help grow the Raven network.

All customer service had to go through a U.S. team member until Keera stepped into this role. Her contacts and information were a huge opportunity for us to grow here, and she has been instrumental to the work we’re doing in Australia.

— Matt Daniels, Sales Manager

Keera plays a key role in helping with operations in Australia, covering a range of responsibilities that help the team. She works directly with customers, assists with customer support, answers technical service calls, and helps with sales promotions.

Farming in Australia has major differences from farming in the United States, and learning those differences has been an exciting challenge for Keera. A self-proclaimed “city girl,” Keera didn’t grow up around farming, and working for an ag tech company has been a learning experience since she started six years ago.

Australia has a lot of droughts and limited farmland, which is why the work Raven is doing is so important. We have the autonomy and precision solutions to help farmers. The work we’re doing in Australia is going to really help a lot of people.

In addition to learning about farming, Keera has grown lasting relationships with her team members. Our Australia team members all work remotely, so they can’t get together in person often, but they have built strong ties through their virtual interactions and limited in-person gatherings.

It’s a great team atmosphere, especially for not being together in an office. Our connections have helped us stay together as one team.

— Keera Smedley, Customer Support Specialist II

Matt said that Keera’s work is integral to the relationships the team forms with customers. She helps our customers understand pricing, availability, and freight options. Her positive attitude and willingness to help have formed strong relationships with our customers.Keera works quickly and efficiently to handle requests from the team and customers. Matt said that Keera can always be relied on to have projects finished soon after they’ve been asked for.

For Keera, everything she does is because she knows it will help farmers serve the world. She works to solve customers’ challenges and help them achieve results for their operations. Keera’s work will help our organization grow to be the best, and she is making a difference for farmers in Australia each day.

Keera’s attention to detail with customer orders and all her responsibilities on the team are a great benefit to the organization.
